Wasn’t bad. Slow burn soap opera with no real action to speak of, but the story was cool.

It was very good. Not boring and kept interest. Nice set design and costuming. Some jump scares and decent story. Handsome and pretty actors with good acting skills.

Some good scares! Beautiful styling. A little dry.

SPOILER ALERT: I didn’t quite understand who was dying, dead, and who was being deceived until the last 30minutes. And I guess the ghost woman’s baby took over the spirit of the daughter-in-laws baby?! I’m gonna find the recap on YouTube…

This did not resonate with me. I don't want to knock the performers or many of those on the production, there is clearly a level of professionalism here. But I struggle to enjoy a horror movie where you empathise more with the vengeful ghost than the ghosts 'victims'. It's a struggle to know who you're rooting for, the central family is clearly totally unlikeable, the protagonist is painted as timid one minute then devious the next, all the while enduring suffering that is totally unwarranted, but the vengeful ghost in question is targeting the awful family, and because of this I struggle to find the ghost scary because I'm willing it on. The editing is the main flaw in my opinion to be honest, constructed in a confusing way, at times it feels rushed, at others time periods are meshed together. It's difficult to follow at times and I think this is it's main flaw. Quite often I'm in agreement with many of the higher rated films on Shudder but I can't say I share the same positive opinion. I do think an alternative edit would benefit the film a great deal.
